Air Malta takes off for Tunis
Air Malta has returned to Tunis (TUN) after an eight-year hiatus by adding three weekly flights to the Tunisian airport from Malta (MLA). Launched 26 June, the carrier will operate the short 396-kilometre link between the Mediterranean island and the North African airport on its fleet of A320s. Paul Sies, CCO of Air Malta, said of the route:“The launch of this flight initiates Air Malta’s position as a carrier connecting the island to important regions in Europe and North Africa, besides the many connections it already offers across the Mediterranean and beyond. We are very excited to be one of the first European airlines to resume regular services to Tunis.” The route between Malta and Tunis is already served by Tunisair Express which also offers three weekly flights.
